Description

Bittadon, a parish in Devonshire, 5 1/2 miles SSE of Ilfracombe, and 5 1/2 N by W of Barnstaple station on the G.W.R. Post town, Barnstaple; money order and telegraph office, Ilfracombe. Acreage, 1050 ; population, 46. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £80 with residence. The church is small but good, and contains some fine monuments of the Chichester and Acland families, and was restored in 1883-87.
