Description

Babbacombe, a parish in Devon, 2 miles from Torquay station on the G.W.R. The scenery here is very fine, and the place has grown from a sequestered little spot into a well-built and rapidly increasing village. The church is a splendid edifice, built in 1873. The living is a vicarage; gross value, £395, in the gift of the vicar of St Mary Church. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office. Population, 1645.
