Description
Draycott, a liberty in Wilne parish, Derbyshire, on the river Derwent and the Midland Counties railway, 6 1/2 miles ESE of Derby. It has a station on the railway, and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Derby. Area with Church Wilne, which is also a liberty in this parish, 1452 acres ; population, 1032. The Earl of Harrington is lord of the manor. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels, also a cotton factory.
