Ruan Minor, a parish, with a village, in Cornwall, on the coast, 3 1/2 miles NNE of the Lizard, and 10 from Helston station on the G.W.R. It has a post and money order office under Helston; telegraph office, Cadgwith. Acreage, 704; population of the civil parish, 253; of the ecclesiastical, 552. There is a parish council consisting of six members. Building stone and serpentine are worked. The living is a rectory, annexed to Grade, in the diocese of Truro; net value, £250 with residence. The church is ancient but good, and was enlarged in 1879. There are Wesleyan, Methodist, and Bible Christian chapels, and a lifeboat station is at Cadgwith.
