Description
Moore or Moor, a village and a township in Runcorn parish, Cheshire. The village stands adjacent to the Bridgwater Canal, 1 1/4 mile SE of the Mersey river, and 3 miles SW of Warrington. It has stations on the L. & N.W.R. and the Manchester and Chester branch of the G.W.R., and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Warrington. The township comprises 916 acres; population, 526. It has a parish council consisting of eight members. The manor, with Moore Hall, belongs to the Heron family. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
