Description
Gayton, a township in Heswall parish, Cheshire, on the estuary of the Dee, half a mile S of Heswall station on the Birkenhead railway, and 8 miles WSW of Birkenhead. Acreage, 708; population, 199. Gayton Hall belonged to the Baskervilles, and passed to the Gleggs and Duncans.
