Description
Wimblington, a parish in Cambridgeshire, with a station on the G.E.R., 3 miles S by W of March. It has a post office under March; money order and telegraph office, Doddington. Acreage, 7727 of land and 35 of water; population, 1158. The manor belongs to the baronet family of Peyton. A Roman station was at Stoney Grange, and has yielded some coins and left some traces. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; gross value, £1575. The church is a building of stone in the Gothic style. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
