Description
Woolstone, Great, a village and a parish in Bucks, 3 miles N from Fenny Stratford station on the Bletchley and Bedford line of the L. & N.W.R., and 3 1/2 S from Newport Pagnell. The Grand Junction Canal passes through the parish, and the river Ousel separates it from Milton Keynes. Post town, Bletchley Station; money order and telegraph office, Fenny Stratford. Acreage, 514; population of the civil parish, 80; of the ecclesiastical, with Little Woolstone, 163. The manor belongs to the Prescott-Westcar family. The living is a rectory, consolidated with that of Little Woolstone, in the diocese of Oxford; joint net value, £192 with residence, in the gift of the Lord Chancellor. The church, rebuilt in 1839, is a small building in the Tudor style.
