Description
Coxwell, Little, a township-chapelry in Great Faringdon parish, Berks, 1 1/4 mile S of Faringdon station on the G.W.R., and 4 1/2 miles NE of Shrivenham. It has a post office under Faringdon; money order and telegraph office, Faringdon. Acreage, 887; population, 251, There are some curious excavations here which are believed to have been habitations of the ancient Britons. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Faringdon, in the diocese of Oxford. The church is a building of stone, chiefly of the Norman and Transitional periods.
